@Emerion It has the most stunning leaves but not to everyone's taste. I don't normally have a problem with pollen but this makes me sneeze, it does a great job by the compost bin where I admire it from afar

I’m wondering if it is a rhytidophyllum @GardenerSuze because the leaves on my shrub are never what you would call stunning. If you look at the closer picture, they never look any different than that. I think it’s about 15 or 16 years old.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.
@Emerion Thank you for coming back I would hate to give a wrong id. It is a Viburnham for sure. The mature leaves are 5 to 6 inches in length and shiny. Some of the flowers are up to 5inches across. No scent. It can be difficult to ID Viburnhams as there are so many but V rhytidophyllum should be obvious. I rarely see it for sale. As said it makes me sneeze and I do know someone who has an allergy to it. Not everyone likes it's leaves,the stems on the new growth are slightly hairy for want of a better description.
