Oh ok, the name appears to be correct, although the colour looks slightly off for Frances Rivis, but it's the description that's wrong..
edit to say, I've just checked other photos of my plant, at the same stage, and the colours are correct.. I will also add that it's gr. 1 pruning, if at all, but you can get a few later blooms on this, during the summer, along with lots of fluffy seedheads which are quite attractive..
Blues/purples are very difficult to photograph well. Looks like the info is wrong re pruning [ and the colour they indicated] No need, other than what I described earlier.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
At least you got the right clematis, good call checking the pruning advice! I bought some Salvia Guaranitica Black and Bloom from a local nursery once, the label said it got to 60cm. Make that 2m and nearly as wide! I told the nursery owner it was wrong next time I went and she refused to believe me. Ah well, she also claimed Osteos were Echinacea when I asked if she had any of the latter 🙄
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
The same Clematis, under different conditions, can produce different colouring in the flowers. Different cameras can also make identical flowers seem very different colours.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
