Never get them here. It's the land of the conifer They can also get aphids sucking them [which is more likely] but those pests are usually when the plant's struggling for other reasons.

I wonder whether this may be a scale insect problem? The mould and browning leaves are typical symptoms. I have no personal experience of this problem in my garden, but may be @Fairygirl or @Dovefromabove may know?

Are there any webs on there? Not big spiders webs but smaller messy looking ones?

I’ve seen a couple of these, is there something I should do about them?
Can’t see too well but in the first group of photos that looks like it could be webs, if so spider mite could be the problem. Hosing all over the foliage will blast them off but you need to check first if that’s what it is.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
