:# I forgot to mix in mpc with JI 2, it does look very loamy now, hope they’ll be ok.  When I pot on again for the final time I will remember to do this.

Although Dark Eyes on the left has definitely got its colour back again in comparison to the previous photo, so glad about that.

The slow release fertiliser is on top, it said to just lightly fork in on top. It’s miracle grow rose and shrub.

The fence is casting a shadow which is kind of perfect for its “partial shade” requirement.  :D

The flowers are dying in less than a week after opening and the one on the right is already perishing before fully opening.  Any ideas what I’ve done wrong?

    Oh no! 😢
I bought some about the same size (can't remember what the names were), planted them straight out in early May in standard soil, they're flowering now - I always thought fuchsias were 'no faff', which is why I have them, and never feed them - I don't know if you can get fading flowers from too much richness? Someone here will know.

I’ve used JI 2 for these final pots. I think that was a mistake. It’s not mixed with any MPC.  I sprinkled slow release fertiliser on top a while ago and that’s it.

I raised them from tiny push out plugs as well. It’s really sad now.

Is it just over the last few days that the flowers have been withering quickly? If you had the very hot weather  with drying wind that we've had, that could be what caused it. If that's the issue they should settle down with more temperate weather.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

It's not affecting the whole flower from what I can see there, is it the whole lot or just a couple of petals?

Yes.  It has been hot the last week but a lot cooler now since yesterday. I’ll keep an eye on them, not much improvement so far.

One or two of the outer red petal.  The other buds are forming and they look perfectly healthy. It’s just when they begin to open that it goes downhill.

But yes they barely last a week before starting to perish. Surely they should last longer than that? I’ve never grown fuchsia before. They are lovely.
