Said 3c here last night frost in rural areas, it was 9c.. Monday said 2c for following 2 nights.  Nope, big panic getting everything back in the green houses. I have an app on my phone, accuview and BBC completely different, forecasts. The main forecast after the news at 10, doesn't go as far as me,so I watch Meridian. Went to visit a friend yesterday, she lives in Redhill which is officially the coldest place in England. She wanted to put her tiny weeny tomatoes, peppers, out I told her not to!

Redhill in Surrey? How could that be or was it just one night?
    In London. Keen but lazy.

B3,yes Redhill Surrey, not sure what you mean, was it just one night. I lived there many years, and worked there before I retired. It's officially the coldest place in England,(obviously not counting, Scotland,Wales) I gather it's because of the dip from the Surrey Hills, frosts earlier and later, than other areas. Her plants are tiny in 3 inch pots.

    Some incoming Bird Bath news…..

    It’s frozen again! 🥶

I can always tell when I look out of the kitchen window and the Japanese Anemone is looking a bit limp/stiff.

BBC Weather reckons it's 8° here at the mo. My weather station says 12° (in the shade). I've not been outside to check the other end of the garden but the sun's out and it looks like a good day.

Pic taken at 5am this morning. See frost between wall and far hills. It isn't unusual here though. I have a friend who asks gardening advice and promptly does the opposite. He asked about sowing his runner beans and peas when we had the nice spell 3 weeks ago and I told him it was too early, don't sow beans until 3rd week of May. He sowed them the next day. I won't waste my breath the next time, I'll tell him to look it up.

Maybe you should just give him the opposite advice @Uff. See what happens  :)

Yes perhaps AnniD. He's one of those people who decides what he wants to do and then asks for advice to confirm he's right and goes against advice if it's not what he wants to hear.
I was talking to the head gardener at the 'big garden' the other day and asked if he gets asked for advice and then the asker goes against his advice. His reply was 'oh all the time'.
