Garden Lawn problem...

    Iv not had problems before with the lawn.  It is just this year that it is dying off but I have noticed a lot of holes in the ground hence wondering if it is insect related?

     Chlorpyrifos. was banned a few years back for the turf trade and farmers, as an Insecticide. I expect Leatherjackets numbers to go up year by year.

    For a quick check water a meter square heavily and then cover with a sheet or plastic and the check early morning, you should then get a idea if you have large numbers.
    I never knew retirement would be so busy. :smile:

    Hence my suggestion of leatherjackets - the birds dig holes to get at the larvae. More info here:

    As MrMow suggests, there are ways to assess the problem.
