@Woodgreen - my lawn has a section with a small gentle slope. The rest of it is flat ground but bumpy in parts because it’s not that level.

Thank you, @Ilikeplants, that's interesting. I think two of the sloping areas that I mow here are a bit steeper than 'gentle', and are too narrow to mow across the slope. I just thought a cordless mower would be so much quieter, if only to do the areas nearest the house.

@Woodgreen - it is by far the best investment I’ve made compared to my old corded electrics and 2 petrol ones previously. The neighbours noisy smelly petrol one gives me the shivers now.

I dont have a mower but I have lots of other Ryobi cordless tools.. Chainsaw, drill, hedge cutters etc and have always found them to be excellent. As @borgadr mentioned its worth having a think about what else you might need down the line as if you can use one set of batteries for all your needs it makes it much easier and cheaper, as you can invest in 2 or 3 batteries so you are never without power
  • Cordless all the way for me.
I`ve a Bosch mower and handles the lawn well. Never use more than one battery (36v) for my 100 sq. m. or so, lawn. But last week scarified/verticut my lawn with an electric scarifier. Never again :) Currently looking at a Cobra or  Stihl, but may wait until later in the year now to see if the price drops. The price of batteries is horrendous though.
