Mine is in tight clay and very hard to get the roots out. It is also underplanted with daylilies which are also difficult to completely dig out. Some parts of root or bulb gets left out.

  • Oxalis corniculata - dark foliage makes it hard to sport, spreads via runners and can regrow from roots, and exploding seeds pods!

    I don't get what's upsetting about oxalis...

It depends on the oxalis …there are some very pretty ones that behave themselves. However  Oxalis corniculata is a real PITA … especially in containers and in my veg patch. 😡

Appears overnight, is camouflaged until it flowers, develops from seedling to seed spreader almost overnight, and catapaults its seeds all over the place into containers, vegetable seedbeds, and is a right nuisance.  It's nothing like its well-behaved pretty shamrock-like cousins.

the seeds land in the middle of clumps of other things, then send down a needle thin tap root which is impossbile to remove and then seeds everywhere.
I zapped the Hosta tunnel a couple of weeks ago with Roundup to keep on top of it

I love the flowers of bindweed so simple and pure. Yes it's a difficult weed to deal with but every spring I stop somewhere and admire the flowers lovely to draw or paint.

Phygelius, the yellow one. A real thug. I'm still finding shoots from the plant I took out over 5 years ago. I still have a red one that doesn't seem as invasive. Hairy bittercress is another pain as is the yellow oxalis. Gets everywhere even on block paving.
