That’s a very nice lobelia, so do give us the name when you find it. I have a purple version in my garden, but this would be very welcome. Is it returning reliably each year? I’ve heard they prefer damp soil and that’s put me off from buying them. (If you crop the pictures a bit they should have the right orientation).
Pulmonaria Diana Clare. Another favourite but no photo Pulmonaria Joan's Red named by a lady I worked for and admired. Joan's husband Robin grew Peony rockii from seed. Together they researched the start of The Plantfinder.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
@Marlorena that fragrance bit about phlox got me.. how long was their flowering season.. Mine in the previous garden was only for a month or so... and slugs love them...
@cooldoc .. all my Phlox flower from at least July to Sept. a few into October, like this one, paniculata 'Amethyst' - late Sept photo, which was still flowering well mid October.. I've not had problems with slugs and I like the scent on all of them, but I can't resist cutting the white 'Mt. Fuji', it's just gorgeous indoors, where a few stalks will scent a room overnight. There are other good whites like 'White Admiral'..

Hefty plant, with lovely twisty white flowers from July till October. Happy in the bright shade of a fence.
