I think there’s a strong possibility they’ve overwintered as grubs in your citrus pots, munching on their roots … now they’re transmogrifying into adults … they’re nocturnal and can’t fly so they’re climbing and looking for somewhere to hide until darkness falls … I’d check the roots of your citrus 😡

I pulled up the lime that has had leaves nibbled this morning. Plenty of roots and no sign of any grubs. Just a few woodlice. Are they likely to have disposed of the vine weevil grubs?

But now I'm thinking that the vine weevils are inhabiting one of the adjacent citrus plants d-fab The lemon has just got its first bud so I'd be gutted if that just keeled over!
