pink flowered all winter suggestions for hanging basket
I've always loved the rich purple petuniae, and put them in hanging baskets on account of the ravaging by slugs and snails but I have to give up as they get them in the end.
I'm thinking of a different approach for this year which is trailing geraniums such as Azure blue , annie Folkard and also long flowering pinks
I bought this pink last year for a pot and bless it as it has had at least one flower out for the whole winter.
I'd appreciate other suggestions for long flowering pinks, but the deeper, stronger colours.
I'm going to take some cuttings from this pink but they won't be big enough for this year

A bacopa from last year has had a few flowers all winter long; it's more of a sub-shrub isn't it? I've cut it back and assume it will be good for another tear at least
They are very long flowering and require little water. With mild conditions will flower until late autumn. They are annuals but well worth considering.
Hardy Geraniums as said are not suitable for a hanging basket their roots need to be in a pot or even better the soil to keep them cool.
You also mention bacopa, I believe this to be a short lived perennial so fingers crossed.
One plant of Verbena Bampton would fill a hanging bskt in a season but will need regular watering.
C Poscharskyanna seems a strange choice for a hanging bskt I would plant it in retentive soil.
What I really like is that you so many ideas which is always exciting, it is always good to rethink as gardens never stand still.
If you want to plant a bskt for the winter months your choice will be limited may be a dark pansy?
The gastropods don't eat the impatiens and there look to be some lovely colours, but I've never managed to get them to do well, poor flowering and untidy- looking.
it's a bit confusing as I am thinking of the plant pinks and not the colour I've just read that they are "pinks" because of the frilly edges look to have been trimmed with pinking shears. Rather charming.
I think the plant in my first post is a "pink" and it is doing well in a pot. It is not so much a question of a winter basket, but I thought that the fact that it had at least one flower on all through winter deserved a mention of its bold refusal to bow to winter!
I like the colour which I thought would substitute well for the deep purple petuniae and as it is doing well in a pot I imagine that it would do well in a hanging basket. Then I fancied a "Rozanne" type of blue. The predominant colour theme of my garden is reds, yellows and blues.
If you wish to follow your red, blue and yellow theme then it is worth considering there are very few blue flowers most have purple or mauve in them.
I think the problem is the amount of time you want your bskt to flower for, lobelia and annual verbenas don't always flower all summer. Diascia Denim Blue and Heliotrope are another possibility.
I have never grown a hanging bskt too much work involved but they are lovely if they are well looked after watered twice a day in high summer and feed weekly.
