Honey Fungus

An invasion of Honey Fungus has killed of a lovely 5 ft Cornus contravesa 5ft Sambuca and a number of ceanothus. Its left big gaps. I would be grateful for suggestions regarding Honey Fungus resistant replacements. Replacing the soil is not an option.

@johnluke1940w4t9SnP1 I am so sorry to hear this, Cornus controversa is beautiful. I asked because it can be very difficult to ID from the fungi alone there are many different honey coloured mushrooms. It is the underground ' boot straps' that are the give away.

@johnluke1940w4t9SnP1 One thing that we gardeners never do is give up. If something goes wrong we move on and try something else. I hope you soon feel happy with this part of your garden again.
