I can't get no motivation. But I haven't tried

  • I've occupied myself so far this winter by catching up my garden journal - printing photos to stick in, writing up about last year, stuff I've learnt, time I spent in the garden not gardening (trying to remember to actually enjoy my efforts!). Maybe this is something which works because I'm quite new to gardening so there's plenty of material for what I've learned  ;) but it's certainly been enjoyable

Well I tried and I tried to do a bit o of weeding but the sun was so low and bright, I couldn't see a thing - even with my back to it😞
Maybe a bit of half-mooning in the week. Might even nibble a bit extra off. Less mowing. That's my answer if it gets noticed.

I tried too B,   No sun here, it’s freezing, certainly too cold for mooning 😀,  the stupid tadpoles have hatched,  hope they survive.

I've pruned a salvia and a penstemon and then I gave up, my get up and go has gone.

Same here,  too cold here to prune saliva and penstemon so back in, will have tea and do some knitting. 🧶

Mine too, @floralies   On top of that there's a really cold wind - not too strong, it's sunny/overcast but nonetheless ....I cut 2 Clematis - right down and watered some rogue lettuces, peas and broad beans.  The ground is so dry it's no use trying to weed the nettles and some thistles.   Walk the dog then watch Ireland thrash Italy.  My OH is not amused!  Make a cup of tea.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Good times ahead
It's amazing what a bit of grass cutting and mooning will do

@Fire. Good in principle. I'm lazy but a gardening control freak. I would rather it wasn't done than not done to my specifications.
I hope I haven't got tangled up in double negatives

  • It's always the same with me at this time of year. I can't be bothered to do anything but then there'll be a day when it's sunny and slightly warm and I can't wait to get out there. It just takes that one day to kick start me for the year.
