@Lizzie27 I suspect your surgery has the same new system ours has. We have been unable to access any of our records prior to the installation date of the new system in Feb 2023. First we were told access was being rolled out gradually then told to re-register on the NHS app. When that didn't make any difference we were finally told that we would have to go to the surgery fill in forms to request access to records from before the change. We haven't done that yet.
I know other people who are with our surgery who had full access to all records immediately after the new system was installed. Someone, somewhere obviously has a big bucket of BS that they use to vary the answers they give out.
I think you're right @KT53. Interesting that your surgery had it's access installed back in Feb but ours has only just been added.
I'm rather annoyed we were not given any prior warning. I did see a note stating that if we wanted to see previous records we would have to request them from the surgery itself. I wonder how far back one could access them, to the date you registered at that particular surgery or all your records since you were born?
I think it seems to be an easier process if you had an NHS account beforehand, which OH has but not me - or not that I remember having. We both deliberately didn't register on the NHS Track and Trace system.
I might have to contact my Surgery tomorrow for help in getting verified.
@Lizzie27 once requested, it should be your full medical record. Absolutely ridiculous that, having had access for several years, it should be necessary to request access to older records again. I had access prior to the change but my wife didn't. We can both only see information for dates after the installation of the new system.
They would have had to digitise everybody's old paper records surely if that is the case? Can't believe the Gov would have forked out for such a massive exercise.
I can understand records being available at your current Surgery but further back than that? Do you mind me asking how far back your own records went?
When I went for a routine bone scan earlier this year, I had to fill in all my details - again - on a paper form and hand it to the nurse who said they didn't even have laptops yet in that department!
@Lizzie27 I can't remember the exact date, but long before we started with this surgery. All medical records are being digitised. Yes it's a mammoth task but it will enable the entire NHS to know the medical history of patients.
Gerrit popped a pane of glass loose in the greenhouse but luckily didn't break it. The clips that held the glass had sprung off with such force that they took a while to find. While looking for the two missing spring clips I also found a third and tracked it down to another loose pane that I'd missed, another stroke of luck. The worst damage is a couple of succulents have been doused with rain water where the pane left a gap. They're supposed to be kept bone dry but it's mild enough that they should be OK.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
We have been getting milk delivered. I think I moaned about it before . We have really tried with them but will have to give up. Yet again they have messed up our delivery, that is bad enough but they are almost impossible to communicate with. You can only deal with them through a very clunky App. The options offered don't apply. We were supposed to get a double drop on the Friday before Xmas we only got our normal amount. We were supposed to get another double overnight we got nothing. I know we can go to a SM and buy some but we had other plans, there's no point in just going for milk, but we hadn't planned to do more shopping today but we may as well. We really liked the concept but they just don't seem to be able to get it to work properly, and it's a premium price.
@Allotment Boy it's sad when you try to support local businesses but they don't hold up their end of the bargain. We stopped home deliveries when it got to the stage of the milk never being there before we left for work in the morning.
Yes that was a common issue with the old style milk rounds which have all died out in London. This idea was they delivered overnight so guaranteed delivery before 7am. They are in a co-operative with farmers, supposedly paying them a better price, back to glass bottles- no plastic, all great BUT in order to keep costs low they seem to have minimal office support, everything through an on line App which is very poor. If they mess up they seem to have no ability to correct it until the next delivery wich can be nearly week away. We were getting milk on only 2 drops per week, Thursday night for Friday, Sunday night for Monday they couldn't accommodate anything else. My wife has wasted hours trying to sort out issues, this is the last straw.
That’s a shame … I understand its difficult to get folk to do the job long-term because of the hours.
During the pandemic we had milk and other goods delivered by Milk & More … most of the time it was pretty efficient … they delivered three times a week … there were some glitches when personnel changed or were on holiday but most of the time it worked well.
The other problem was when we had a spell of very hot weather … our milk was delivered in the wee small hours and despite our house facing westwards the milk sometimes got too warm and went off quickly. We solved this by leaving a plastic box of cold water out and the delivery person put the milk in our crate/carrier in the water and it kept cool that way.
We were in two minds whether to continue using them … it was more expensive … then when my son had his accident and our lives were in chaos and we never knew where we would be when, it was much simpler to pick up what we needed when we picked up our other shopping from the farm shop or supermarket … we also make a point of keeping several cartons of sterilised milk in the pantry.
