@Obelixx I'd had the ring resized twice and it was still like a tourniquet when my fingers start to swell when I'm out walking. I sometimes take it off before I go out but didn't on this occasion. When my hands are cold the ring comes off easily but doesn't fall off because of the slightly swollen knuckle. On this occasion I took it off and put it in my pocket, but must have pulled it out when I took my phone out.
At least the claim process was quick. Reported to the insurer yesterday. Assessor this morning asked for photo of me wearing it . Finding photos took longer than everything else as I hate having my photo taken. Fortunately my missus had insisted on one when we were on holiday a couple of years ago. By 11am today I had the details of the replacement being offered. All I have to do now is get a ring sizing jobbie to measure my finger and let them know the size.
Salt meet wound We would be coming home from holiday this evening had the school not insisted that my son needed to be there. Now he's running a temperature and will likely miss the next two days of school because of something he's caught from being in school. I took the three days off to do essential housework assuming I'd have time to catch up later in the week. Goodbye weekend
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
These stickers are being stuck on electric billboards. This is for ones you see on bus stops advertising phones and vapes and pointless tat you don't need but the bigger they are the more energy they waste.

I'm peeved that nearly a week after putting an offer on a new house, I'm told that because there are offers through two estate agents, I'll have to put in a sealed bid. Are the sellers calling our bluff, or just hopeful that we might increase our offer?!!
Pondering this morning … human beings are such odd creatures … this need to control, from drawing lines on maps and deciding who can be where, to being perfectly happy to spend lots of money buying seeds and grains from across the globe to feed some birds but getting upset when other birds eat the leaves from trees growing in our gardens …
The way the world is going there may well come a time when we’re planting trees purposely to feed the few birds we have left … but at the moment that’s not what the trees are there for 😖 or is it ….🤔
I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Control is generally a symptom of fear or anxiety but gardens can't really exist without some level of control.
For some reason it allowed me to see it - I think the paywall papers occasionally let people in as a teaser. Anyway, it's just selective quotes from their columns in the July GW mag - do you have that @Loxley ?

Hoomins aren't the only territorial creature @wild edges. Birds and other creatures may not be able to put lines around their territory but they will defend it just as violently.
Driving into town today and a ******* stupid woman was trying to cross the road with a baby in a buggy. Several times she shoved the buggy into the road to try to make the traffic stop so she could cross, and several times she had to pull it back to avoid it being hit. She was literally no more than 20 yards from a pedestrian crossing!
Have just got back from a 230km round trip for a 20 minute visit to the cardiologist to confirm my heart is in perfect nick for Monday's op, which I rather suspected but hey ho, they have to check. BP was elevated tho so chappy asked what my normal level was. I said 13/8 but if you'd just driven round the Nantes périphérique on a Friday morning with people already in weekend mode, your BP would shoot up. He agreed.
So glad the days of daily rush hour are long gone.
