There has been an explosion of moths in the area.  I checked the weather forecast. Clear from 8pm to 8am overnight. I set out a large white sheet, plugged the extension cable into the greenhouse, and put out the mothtrap.  Even before fully dark, lots of moths fluttering around, and bats flying. I decided to have a bath, and then check on it.  10 minutes in, it was slashing down.  I hadn't put the large perspex sheet over it, the bulb has blown, the greenhouse electrics out.  The greenhouse electrics has a kill switch in the garage.  I hit the wrong one and put the freezer and fridge out. We thought that was the fuse, change the fuse (garage has older electrics), realise I hit the wrong switch, restored the electric, got a lot of soggy egg boxes in the trap , a large yellow underwing and a straw dot. I went to bed and had a good nights sleep.
Maybe tonight I'll leave it on the patio table under the brolly.

Better luck tonight then @fidgetbones.  No rain here.  It is gaily sweeping by to the south and east, close enough for me to see it going by.   Frustrating or what?

Extremely annoying. It seemed people close by were catching in the hundreds last night.  I'm inclined to put the trap in the greehuse with the doors wide open, just hope neighbours don't think I'm growing something other than tomatoes.

Yesterday I stabbed himself with a very pointy garden fork (stitches were discussed) and set my hair on fire at the giant bonfire we were having. I now have a tiny patch of stubble near my crown (not the tiara sort)...perhaps that bit should be on reasons to be cheerful. 🤣

Were you having a really good row or just being clumsy @plant pauper ?  Good to see you back, by the way.

I vaguely remember seeing an advert for hand-shelled  peas. Surely the mechanically shelled and frozen ones would have more nutrients and, probably, taste.

Home cooked. Get some Aunt Bessies out of the freezer and chuck them in the chip pan. It's home cooked because you've got a shared room upstairs that comes with the job.
Low salt (more sugar). Low sugar (smaller portion). Less packaging (smaller portion)  Low salt and sugar ( higher price)
