We have often had a higher quote from our exiting insurer, so we simply terminate it and sign on again as a new customer. Exactly same details fir insurance and contact and yet considerably cheaper 🙄

I said the same a couple of posts up,  you have to make sure you tell the original company or they automatically take the money.

  • The cost of my house and contents insurance has dropped over the last couple of years - and that's staying with the same provider.

No, they've not reduced the cover. I used to work in insurance, so I check these things carefully.

Bought a big water butt from Wilkco last Thursday, and paid for delivery to arrive today. No problem, it seemed quite simple.

Got a message on Saturday morning from Evri the courier to say the order is out for delivery on Saturday evening. Thought it strange that it's Saturday evening delivery, but just thought they were trying to get ahead of themselves. Then I got a message around 2.30pm to say they tried to deliver the order but there was no one in and there was no safe place to leave it. Downright lie! My husband was in the front room by the window watching several games of footie, he'd have seen a delivery van turn up, plus our dog would have kicked off. I really, really can't do with being messed about, but I really object to the dishonesty. I do whatever I can to accommodate delivery drivers, they've got a job to do, and always make sure I'm in or there's a note on the front door telling them to leave the delivery by the back gate.

No big deal I know, I'm expecting the delivery will be made today as planned, though there's been no acknowledgment yet. But I'm so annoyed at being messed around, and worse, it's the untruth. Doubt I'll be ordering anything from Wilco again because of their preferred courier, which is a shame because I've read Wilco is in financial trouble.

It's the 'small' things in life that appears to upset the most.

  • I had a similar problem with Evri. Twice they messaged to say they'd tried to deliver, and no-one was in. Both times I knew I was there - and like your husband, would have seen and heard them.

we get that all the time, though, to be fair, not with Evri - our local chap is very good for them. But most of the others have at some time said they tried to deliver but couldn't when they haven't actually been within a mile of us. I think, when they run out of time, they drop a number of the deliveries to catch up and because we're an awkward, out of the way place, they can save a lot of time off a route just by missing us out. At least they do then usually rearrange it. Unlike when the Yodel guys just chuck stuff in the hedge or leave it at any house in the postcode and assume we'll sort ourselves out

Oh how perceptive of you. 😖
I  may have said before but I  have never known a year this bad. I  knew they would eat bulbs but why take the flowers off? They started on the snowdrops,  then the crocus now the tulips. We protected the bulbs with chicken wire,  it seems they are getting their revenge buy ruining the flower instead.

Why can't the little beggars (polite for once) eat the weeds we don't want rather than destroy the plants we do?
