@punkdoc yes, a great many attacks on Russian soil, and it is not "only weapons." But it's completely futile to talk about it on here. Winston, who wouldn't be able to pinpoint Belgorod on an unmarked map to within 1000 miles, knows more about it than its residents- so let's stick to arguing about forget-me-nots and pond liners. It is more meaningful.
Youâre right @WAMS, I wouldnât be able to pinpoint it. Â However, just talking to a bunch of rather well educated Russians about this and theyâre in agreement with me. Â
Please try not to be so hostile sounding. Â Not that I particularly give a toss what you think or write but other forum members might do.
And please try to get your facts right in future⊠that way you wonât come across the way you do.
When there's always biscuits in the tin, where's the fun in biscuits ?
When the 17 year old daughter of the landlady of my local passed her driving test about 5 years ago she (the landlady) phoned up her own insurer to ask how much it would cost to insure her daughter.  As you can imagine the cost was astronomical, well over ÂŁ1000, and yet she didnât even think twice about accepting and buying it âŠ. not because she thought it was a good price but because it had never occurred to her to try for a quote on a price comparison website.
Luckily one of the regulars got straight onto one of those websites and got a quote for several hundred pounds less than the original one. Â She was able to recoup the original under the âcooling offâ rules, thankfully.
It had never occurred to me before that some people just accept the quote theyâre given instead of shopping around for a better one. Â I reckon thatâs one way insurers make pots more money.

It is certain that there have been a great many explosions on Russian soil close to the Ukraine border. Russians attribute them to Ukrainian missiles and drone attacks. The Ukrainians, somewhat implausibly in my view, attribute the attacks to Russians themselves in order to blame Ukraine and heap hostility on them i.e. false flags. Until today and this thread I have not heard anyone blame NATO.
@Allotment Boy I don't have personal experience of them but have been told the NFU are generally pretty competitive.
NFU won't insure my home because ""the lake poses a drowning risk" said the lady on the phone. My reply was "presumably, on the same basis, you won't cover any home with a swimming pool, or a bath?" Silence was her reply. I've insured with the post office for house and contents cover for the last couple of yearsÂ
Iâve insured our bungalow with the Post Office for the past 3 years, Â never accept the auto renewal though, Â its always cheaper through a compare site, Â so I cancel the auto renewal at the start any policy, and get free cinema tickets and cheaper insurance through a comparison site. this year was ÂŁ134.00.Â
Donât know how much the car will be in July, Â probably about the same as house insurance, usually is.
