Thank goodness that the majority of Scots aren't as rude and have better manners than those people. It's a reason that Scotland is a good place to live.
You think it's rude for Scots to boo GSTQ/K. I find it offensive to Scots.
With outdated mantras like the above that are still trotted out there will always be divisions punkdoc. I've no idea when they were written but would guess at about 250 years ago, if I was interested I could look it up but they are totally outdated and irrelevant now. They are history and thank God we move on, at least some of us do.
I too have some Scottish blood in my veins from way back but I'm British through and through.

Their booing just goes to emphasise their lack of knowledge of their own history. The Queen was a direct descendant of Mary Queen of Scots, not of Queen Elizabeth 1. They also seem to forget that a Scottish King came to the throne when the countries came together.
Why is it that whenever I go into the front garden to do a bit of quiet weeding, or wash the car ... or almost anything really ... the chap with the van and the power tools turns up opposite and starts making a noise

Booing a funeral cortege is ill-mannered and boorish whoever does it to whomever, and whatever the circumstances.
Totally agree with you. I don't think there was any booing at the funeral. That was earlier when GSTK was played at the proclamation of Charles as King.

Thank you for the Scottish history lesson. I was beaten at school for forgetting to answer the teacher in English. It started when i was 5 years old. Most of my class mates suffered the same. We were beaten with a leather belt/whip thing called a Tawse. There was 2 types. One wide one with 3 fingers that only stung, and one narrow one with 2 fingers that bruised and drew blood. I suffered this regularly until my teens for forgetting to speak English.. One day i was called out to be beaten in front of class, i realised that i was now bigger than the teacher. By this time i had been going to a boxing club, and told the teacher that i would hit him back if he attacked me with the tawse. He put it away, and told me to sit back down. I realised then that they only ruled through fear. One pupil called Charlie was called out for forgetting to speak English, and he kept retreating from the teacher as he whipped him, and he cpuldn't reach him, so he was shoved into a cupboard. We were all told to leave the class. Some of us hid and stared through the small window in the class door. The teacher opened the door and dragged Charlie out by his hair. He proceeded to whip him bloody, as Charlie curled up on the floor in a corner of the room. "Speak English" he was shouting as he red faced and slavering beat Charlie. Don't tell me about what it means to be Scottish.

May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the King!"
