Ours is wrapped in paper (and put in a paper bag) and has been as long as I can remember. The greasy paper has to be binned not put in the recycling, which is a shame, but it least it's not plastic.

Cars these days have far too many gizmos and gadgets. I was given a top of the range car when mine was in for repair. Damn thing had more lights than Blackpool and most were a distraction. Why anybody thought lights flashing to let you know somebody was overtaking you was a good idea I have no idea. As for electric handbrake!!! What's even more annoying is that I can disable certain features via the menu in car but if I do a warning light appears to warn me I turned the feature off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Washing machine saga continues. It's now been 48hrs since my complaint. They promised to get back to me within that time frame but are now calling my phone, letting it ring for one second before hanging up and then they send me a text saying 'we tried to get hold of you but had no answer, we will try again later.' Same thing happens the next time they call. They haven't sent me the transcript of the live chat either despite me specifically requesting it.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Hubby trying to access his own blooming money from pension, apparently he has to take some out. Spent so long hanging on the phone, then trying to get them to understand,"NO,I DON'T PAY INTO IT ANYMORE" having already told the woman he stopped work 18 months ago!!! He can't do it over the phone,he can't do it online, she said. Package finally arrived., through the post. They want bank statement as proof of ID won't accept a photocopy,so he sat scribbling out all the figures. They failed to enclose an envelope, and they haven't bothered to put an address on the letter head. Wonder if they are WFH. So fairy was the £11 just for a piece of haddock? Ours comes in paper bag round paper box.
11 quid is a special fish supper. Nearly a tenner for a standard haddock supper. Ours come in cardboard trays with paper over them, in a paper bag if it's more than one item. I recycle the paper bags, but not the wrapping that's next to the fish, for the reasons @LG_ describes. Don't start me on litter @wild edges. Dreadful. It's easy for folk to blame the food outlet, but they aren't the ones responsible for chucking litter. Why can't people carry the litter to a bin, and if there isn't one - take it home. Not rocket science
I think you'll need to take your washing down to a river with some rocks....

Received an e-mail today from my bank about added security being introduced for online purchases. Sounds like a good idea, but there is one major problem. My wife doesn't use internet banking and has no desire to, and although we have a joint account, there is nowhere I can find to add her mobile number so that she is called when her card is used.
Had a SM delivery earlier, the young lad managed to tip the sack truck over with two baskets on it - oops, two smashed bottles of wine, another jar, eggs mostly all smashed, cereal boxes and other stuff slightly damp, they fell in a puddle. The potatoes are spread out on the kitchen floor to dry off, they have a very nice aroma of red wine! Plus point, I've had all the damaged stuff either refunded or given to me for free including a jar of face cream. Poor lad was mortified but I laughed at it and told him not to worry, it wasn't his fault.
Eventually Samsung text me their customer services number and asked me to call them. I had my phone on my desk right in front of me but couldn't hit answer quickly enough before they hung up each time. I rang, and went through all the endless options to speak to someone. Then, despite having all my reference details, the person went through the exact same transcript I'd been through on the live chat two days ago. I told them I was expecting a call back to answer the previous questions but even this person couldn't give me an answer. If it wasn't on the script they couldn't help. Two days wasted for nothing They told me I could take the 25% discount off a new machine or go back to the vendor.
So I rang Currys to quote the Consumer Rights Act to them to see if that would help. You can't email Currys since they don't like evidence in writing. Again endless automated system options had to be filled in and right at the end it re-directed me to Samsung's phone system I went through the Currys system again but put in random options to force it to connect me to a person. After being passed around a bit I spoke to the Out of Warranty Department who told me it was out of warranty so they couldn't do anything. I asked them what they do as a department if out of warranty issues aren't their problem Eventually the women told me I had to go to the shop I bought it at and they would arrange repair or replacement. You can't phone the shop directly so I drove there, even though it's a good 40 minutes away, only to be told there was nothing they could do until an engineer had confirmed the problem, "didn't they tell you that on the phone?" I told the customer service guy about the endless problems I've had with this machine and how they should replace it because it's not fit for purpose and all I got was "Those are really good machines, I'd take the discount Samsung offered if I were you and buy the same again."
I've got an engineer coming on Monday to assess the problem. Then I have to decide whether it's cheaper to get him to fix the machine and pay him myself, battle to get Currys to fix it which will probably never happen, or battle harder to get Currys to replace it or give me a discount off a new machine that's better than 25% off. Currys know that people aren't going to go for weeks without a washing machine so they make it a long process to get anything out of them. At least I can ask the engineer what machines are worth looking at if I do need to replace it, or at least which ones I should avoid.
