You all know about my problem neighbours, 10 years of cutting back brambles monthly. I had the grandkids this week. He collared hubby a couple of days ago, said would he stop them throwing apples in his garden, they might hit the green house. The apples are tiny, the green house is toughened safety glass, sited north under trees, and absolutely thick with bird crap.He said he had thrown the apples back. He certainly had, into plants and shrubs, really difficult to pick up. Of course I don't condone them chucking anything over,I was angry about the loss of a fruit, but I couldn't believe the attitude, bearing in mind, we've not thrown all the crap back, which legally you can,do. We also prune the trees hanging over from there. In 10 years, they have remained untouched from the other side.
Was listening to radio 4 a couple of days ago, weekly program about periods A person complaining, about having periods, and period products being targeted at girls and women. Said person, wants "inclusivity". Admitted to "body dysmorphophia". Identifying and believing you are a man...(which they do).fine by me,having womb, ovaries, periods, does not make you a man!
my husband has been spending over an hour a day watering the garden. It keeps him out of mischief. But it all seems pretty pointless to me. There's going to be a hosepipe ban sooner or sooner and it's all going to die anyway.
Baking cakes before arrival of family last Friday, I managed to touch the oven shelf with the inside of my left wrist. Plenty of cold water, and I thought I’d got away with just a red mark. Not a big burn, but it did blister and peel ( sorry, should have warned everyone first) and is itchy and sore now. Thank goodness it isn’t my dominant hand, but I can’t wear my watch. I’m putting a plaster over it for gardening, and leaving it open to air the rest of the time. What a bore. I need longer oven gloves.
@Ergates I find a capsule of vitamin E oil, pricked and squeezed on burns and scars helps heal and reduces or removes any itching. Currently doing it twice a day on my knee scar and the stitch holes and it's a great help and I use it whenever I inadvertently cook or iron myself.

Just to clarify, he said that he suffered from gender dysphoria not body dysmorphia. BD is a mental illness but GD isn't. The marketing thing is a bigger picture though. The same thing as 'Man sized tissues' having the name changed to just 'large tissues' because some women are pretty damn snotty as well and shouldn't have to feel ashamed that delicate little lady tissues aren't up to the job. From a man's point of view, toxic masculinity has been a staple of the marketing depts for far too long so if conversations like this start to change things from both sides then all the better in my opinion.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I thought I'd get another watering can in preparation for the expected hosepipe ban. £11.00 for a lump of moulded plastic in B&Q or £9.99 for one half the size! I'm not paying that, says I. g It seems to me like the kind of thing you can buy in one of those shops with all the stuff outside the door so I shall investigate or make do with what I have already.
