I really don't see the need for all the hostility. I would 'assume good faith'. Why start piling in before anything has even happened? Even if there comes an advert, it's easily deleted. As we know, threads can often turn out to start interesting discussions. It's a good question and answers can end up being viewed by thousands of people. If you ask why you may be off putting to new users, I would say that this is a case in point. I understand that you may be bored, but sarccy, acidic comments aren't going to dissuade determined spammers, so what's the point?

Ignore button is really handy @pansyface. I've adopted it for a few folk recently  ;)

  • Oh dear! Certainly genuine question. I am trying to grow varieties of veg with high calcium levels that are not available in the UK. Only wondering if it will involve the phytosanitary certificates needed by commercial importers.
  • Thank you. That's clear.

You've obviously done some research on this subject so I'd be interested to know what veg from the US are higher in calcium levels than those grown here ?  Also , is it simply the variety or does it depend on additives of some kind.?
There are a couple of posters in the US on the forum - @Blue Onion and @jamesholt so perhaps they could give you more info.
It may not be the ideal answer but if all else fails, maybe grow what you can and make use of the various Calcium supplements available as an addition.
Just another thought - @punkdoc may also be able to advise you on Calcium levels.

This interests me because I did not realise low levels of calcium would be an issue in a western diet. I thought dairy products or, if intolerant, almond milk or tablet supplements would suffice.

What plants will increase your calcium level and are they specially bred to achieve this?
