    I was a long time ago :)

A handful of sharp sand and a stiff broom may do a better job.
I think soap etc contains nitrates which may well feed the algae..

You're probably right @Pete.8, although when I use soap, or more accurately -washing up liquid, I don't use very much.

I might even have some sand..somewhere...

That looks like a job well done @Pete.8!  Are your flags made of porcelain, sandstone or other?

Thanks @Plantminded it does clean up well.
The flags are porcelain from Bradstone

I thought so, thank you @Pete.8, they look great!  I used some porcelain flags on some steps last year and wish I had done so 8 years ago on my patio and paths!

  • I don’t believe in hacks or magic but… wow. White vinegar
  • Impressive!

Did you put on neat white vinegar?
It is going to use masses to do a large area.
    Environmentally friendly? Very doubtful.

  • It’s the bird brand, when washing it there was some sand so I think it removed the top layer of the slab.

I will try wet and forget, apparently same effect and lest harmful
