  Has the look of a variegated holly to me ? perhaps golden king? Apologies if that is totally off the mark.

  I thought Eleagnus was quite likely from the original pic , but the close up always helps.
  I think that's what it is, but I wouldn't have known the variety.

  @Silver surfer just checking you saw the leaf pic that OP posted a little later in the thread. < albeit I checked your google link and one of the elaeagnus leaf pics that came up does look like a great match to that leaf pic they posted

  Yes thanks I saw the 2nd pic. Sadly I cannot make out the detail.
  Looked again...I wonder if the leaves are opposite???
  In which case it is Euonymus .....eg Euonymus japonicus ovatus aurea maybe..top grafted.
