These influencers are just there to talk you into buying things you don’t need.
Won’t  happen here,  we are hard pushed to buy something we do need.

I'm enjoying Rosie Hardy. She's generous with what she shares and has a lifetime of growing and showing.

I'm not keen on the term 'influencer'. Are people who get influenced called followers. It suggests a cult to me :o But then I am 27 and completely out of tune with the modern world.

I found that touching and heartwarming VictorMeldrew.

If you're familiar with the programme, those are not words you normally see together in the same sentence  :D

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • Lol wild edges, I think I like binfluencer.  I work in an area where “influencers” have become the “go to” marketing tool but I do wonder if they realize how much they are actually being used by companies. Yes they get invited on nice vacations in the hope of a good “blog/vlog” post, but at the same time they are quickly out of fashion and the most of them never get invited a second time.

My mum is definitely my gardening influencer, and my dad was DIY guru.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

I watch a lot of Youtubers who aim for a wide age range of viewers. I don't like the term "influencer" in this case, I prefer "content creators". Most of them earn money from adverts, sponsorships, Patreon, or merchandise but they are not millionaires, it's more like it's a part-time job for them.
For most topics/hobbies, the earning potential of Youtube or other social media channels isn't that big. It needs to be something super-mainstream to bring a really large income.

I suppose we'd all like to assume that we are not influenced, but we all are to an extent.  My gardening has been I influenced by this site but seeing as I don't bother with other sites, there's a problem. Maybe I would be less influenced if I looked at other sites but then maybe people who can't be arsed are less susceptible anyway - or maybe more . I hate the term influencers anyway. It's creepy
