@Peadar Thanks for the nice pics and thanks to @Fran IOM for posting them the right side up. This pics bug is a real nuisance and should have been fixed by this forum developers a long time ago.
I also have H. Glenda's Gloss in the garden and currently they look very much like yours, except that I had to remove the base foliage which looked quite ugly. Your Hamamelis specimen looks quite spectacular. I must say I am not a great fan of plants which flower before the foliage, can't explain why...
Thank you all for replies on how to fix the photos issue and to Fran for rotating them. I wanted a hamamelis for years but kept putting off because they are quite expensive. Finally got one last September and am delighted with how well it has bloomed. It's a great addition at a time when very little else is in bloom. That photo is from about 3 weeks ago
This flowerbed is sadly neglected over the winter months, too far from the house, but was lovely this evening to catch sight of the cheery colours of the crocus. I really must plant more in September.
