Some of the tulips are flowering. These Madam Lefeber/red emperor tulips were last year's. Once done, I had put the pot aside and they have lots of buds this year. I didn't expect them to flower so well. I think I'll plant them into the ground after flowering this year.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
I downsized from my too big family house in Dordogne in January last year. The garden was a blank canvas, previous owners had 2 free range goats that ate everything. There were no daffodils, now there are, see above photo.
I've made flower beds in the last year, I hope there will be something to show here. I did post a couple of photos but someone said they wouldn't have done it like that which rather put me off.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Busy-Lizzie, I love seeing photos of other people's gardens. I find them a real inspiration, and great to give me planting ideas for my own. I think yours looks very pretty
@BuzzyLizzie Don't let anyone put you off. I have to mostly garden in pots due to a lack of space and open ground, and have been criticised for having too many pots and that it just looks messy by people who are used to much bigger gardens and who have much more luxury of choice about what they do with their plants, but I actually really like and enjoy the overall effect that I've managed to achieve in my little garden. You should absolutely do what you want to do to achieve the kind of garden that you like and enjoy, anyone else's opinion is at best just that. Also, as @bullfinch says, I really love seeing what other people have done with their gardens. My garden gives me great joy, and I love seeing other people's little moments of joy, even when they're not the same as mine.
