When I pulled it out there some white roots running along just under the top of the soil which I couldn't totally remove as other plants were in the way so I probably haven't seen the last of it!
It looks a lot like my rudbeckia black eye Susan seedlings that get started in summer from early seed fall or freshly turned over soil exposing seeds past spring.
You can bet your life it’s a weed, not many decent perennials would come up looking that lush at this time of the in an English garden especially if you haven’t got the mother plant nearby.
