    Flock & Herd, @B3 ?
Middle of the High Street, roughly opposite Lidl. If you're coming this way though, I'd go along to JohniQ at Eden Park as Flock & Herd seem a bit 'boutique' to me (I may be wrong though - not been in). The Sausage Shop at the bottom end of the High Street is probably the place you're thinking of - excellent sausages (including Ken & Eddie's) and I think they do pies & things too but not a full-on butcher.

Thanks @LG_ we go there quite often. My husband trawls the charity shops for even more books so I'll investigate next time.

    We really need a greengrocer, @uff .
We have quite a few bakers, a fishmonger and a butcher (but that's only been open a couple of years - the ones in the other high streets nearby have been around much longer), as well as a gazillion coffee shops and restaurants, but no greengrocer.

... and yes, lots of charity shops! My kids clothe and bejewell themselves entirely from charity shops 🙂

(PS if you let me know when, I'll pop your London Pride on my doorstep for collection 🤣)

Waitrose sell packed beef skirt and call it bavette steak. They also usually have beef skirt on their fresh meat counter.

I haven't forgotten the peony either but I think you'll be disappointed. I'm sure it's the bog standard one you can get anywhere 😊

But that is the one I wanted! However, I think I have one now. Transplanted from another garden in autumn. We'll see if it comes up (there are buds).

That's the trouble with rebranding basic foods. @Ergates. All a bit Hyacinth Bucket if you ask me.

Has anyone got any ideas for something sweet to finish my lunch please?
The first year of lockdowns I was fine, didn't put on weight and was active, and didn't feel the need for, say, a biscuit to finish lunch. However, in the second year of lockdowns I have put weight on due to me wanting something sweet plus I haven't been able to be so active due to a problem with my foot.

I'm having a bash at a keto diet so something carb free would be helpful.

If I fancy something sweet I often have Greek-style yoghurt with a little stewed fruit  ... I try to keep a pot of stewed fruit of one sort or another in the fridge ... rhubarb, apple and pears are some of my favourites ... OH prefers berry fruits like blueberries, raspberries etc.  I sometimes get a pound or two of the frozen 'Forest Fruits' that the farm shop sells from their freezer section ... cooked gently for a few minutes and served with yoghurt they're delicious.

And if you're doing a keto diet, look away now

Cornish-style pizzas made with beef skirt, swede, onion, potato, salt and lots of white pepper .... that's supper sorted ... plus some for the freezer  :)
