I am going to get my lawyers to look into this. One of my friends was accused of plunging his sink but came to an agreement with the accuser, and in that secret agreement, he made sure that no one with my surname could ever be taken to court for plunging his sink. I am exempt!! - even though I've never plunged a sink in my life and obviously have no need to fear going to court. The photos of me with a plunger in my hand - I have no knowledge of and I think they're fake.
I am not a sink plunger,
but a sink plunger's son,
and I'll keep plunging sinks
til the sink plunger comes...
Edited to add: How remiss of me. Happy New Year to you all!
Plunge onwards steveTu, nothing to fear, you are covered. I studied that topic when I did my City & Guilds law degree that I made up as I went along. I always got the answers right except when I got them wrong but I bluffed my way out and took out a no win no fee thingy. Sink plungers unite!
I am a minister in the Nigerian government, responsible for blocked drains. I have secretly manufactured solid 24ct gold plungers, and want to share them with the world. If you send me your bank details, i will send you a plunger, and a gift of £10,000 pounds to pay for their house insurance. Yours, Cecil McPlungerface M'bobo.
I think we should standardise on our plunging. Surely, plunging should be plungeing? Or else singe becomes singing and that way madness lies (lays?). I don't care if it's sink plungeing or just plungeing for the heck of it, but as English Shauns we must have standards.
Can you get a double handed sink plunger? I want one like a kniggit, a big broad double handed sink plunger. I'll look that up in Yellow Pages to see if there are any local double handed sink plunger providers. Now there's a trade to be in.
I am retired and thinking of buying a ridiculously overpriced retirement apartment in Central London . Can I take my Damian Hurst diamond studded double headed plunger with me. Will it work in the jacuzzi?
OED says that the verb 'to plunge' comes from Old Frenchplungier‘thrust down’, based on Latinplumbum‘lead, plummet’. "To plumb the depths" etc. A plumber is someone who plunges. By definition.
