I do organic gardening, not because of the label but because we just did't want any more chemicals than we were already exposed to in the course of living. I only use organic slug pellets a couple of times a year (we love to grow slug loving stuff such as cabbage and lettuce because that's what we like too) and an organic feed for the garlic and onions.I have purple cabbage seeds from my garden, rainbow chard, Pak Choi, Celery and Strawberry seeds (I don't know if anyone wants strawberry seeds as the plants are so easy to buy everywhere) . We let stuff go to seed in the garden every year, I love the flowers and it attracts loads of bumblebees and normal bees; plus it is just a learning experience to see flowers and seeds we have never seen before and probably would never get the chance to see. So you can have the seeds for free if you want. I will even pay for the postage because I came into a load of free stamps lately due to a temp job that I was doing over the Christmas. Shhh!
Amateur vegetable gardener with dreams of a bigger garden one day.
Hi I am looking for a particular plant called sunny philip for my mum in memory of my dad. I can't seem to find it anywhere and wondered if anyone had a cutting I could buy from them please? My mum does have lots of plants in her garden but I'm not too sure what they are. Many thanks
I have one packet of Nicotiana Sensation Mixed which were free with a gardening magazine. As I don't grow anything from seed if anyone has the slightest interest just let me know.
I find Stephen Ryan useful. He runs a nursery in Oz but still - this video is useful, I think. I talks about harvesting, storing, importing, labelling, sowing and waiting. A good overview. They deal mostly in "exotics" but there's lots of good info on the rest too.
