Amaryllis Problem
I've had this amaryllis for a few weeks now but this appeared a few days ago. I've had many of them but have never had this happen before. Should I just leave it or should I do something to it.
The compost is damper than it looks in the picture.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

The soil looks very dry. Maybe that's why nothing is happening yet.
There's not much else you can do other than cross your fingers.
If the bulb was firm when planted and as you say the compost is moist, the only other thing I'd consider is moving it away from the window sill - they are very cold places at night and as there are no leaves yet, it doesn't need any light. So I'd move it somewhere a bit warmer until you see the tip of a green leaf appearing from the bulb then put it somewhere with good light - but ideally not a window sill.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
1) water it so it comes out as a wet brick from a pot;
2) scrape off soil from the top of a bulb till 2/3 are exposed and put that soil on a bottom of a pot;
3) put bulb and the rest of soil with roots on top.
That said, if it already produces new bulbs it may not bloom this year at all and you will just need to divide it when October comes and enjoy many bulbs next year
I've broke the small shoot off then re-potted it.
Fingers crossed.
