This question is a perfect example of why artificial grass should not even be contemplated let alone implemented.........horrible horrible stuff!
I agree. We were put off buying a house as the front garden was 90% artificial grass. The owner was so proud of it! I made a mental note to deduct the amount they said it cost them from the offer price should we have made an offer. As it was we found a house down the road without a hideous plastic 'feature'.

Exactly @Redwing.  Horrible stuff that should be made illegal!

It has its uses in certain situations. My son is not a gardener at all and disliked the time it took every week to mow their back lawn, which always looked a mess because of kids playing football and their big dog. He says it's the best thing they've ever done, absolutely loves it and I must admit it looks very nice when we visit although I was dead against at the beginning. I know it's bad for wildlife and for the environment generally but horses for courses and all that. I don't condemn it in all circumstances.
