Disposing of Artificial Grass/Astro in my Garden

Hello,

Does anyone know whether I can dispose of my old artificial grass/astro patches through regular rubbish/recycle wheelie bins ? Does anyone have any advice?

    I'd contact your local recycling centre and ask if they'll take it first. If not, I suppose it is technically household waste.

    I would doubt very much if that could go in a plastics recycling bin. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    our recycling centre has a skip for " mixed plastics " might be able to go in that sort of thing?

    It appears that I "Should" - but not sure whether I can dump it in my blue (Recyclable) wheelie bin :( ....

    I would email your council recycling officer or whatever he or she is called. 

    Or as the link suggests, dogs homes and similar may have a use for it so it can be ‘re-purposed’.

    This question is a perfect example of why artificial grass should not even be contemplated let alone implemented.........horrible horrible stuff!
    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

    I would advertise it for free on your local Freegle /Freecycle site as somebody may come and take it away for you.

    I doubt whether it would be classed as home waste and probably should be taken to a Council refuse tip.

    You could give it away as compost bin covers.

    What a brilliant idea @BenCotto. My bins are currently covered with tatty bamboo screening as they can be seen from the bedroom windows (unavoidably) but fake grass might look much better if I can get hold of some. I'd have to be careful though to make sure the pile doesn't run sideways!
