Bugle, daisy, periwinkle, fuschia, poppies, verbascums, gentians, marigolds, sedums, clematis armandii, honeysuckle, cyclamen, teasels, jasmin, osmanthus, ribes, castor oil, salvia, buddliea...not sure which ones are blooming late or which ones are now early.
A real mixture this year but great for the bees and we still have butterflies on the wing.
All sort of bushy salvia, roses, a few last opium poppies, geranium Patricia and Rozanne, cyclamen hed. and bedders, sedum, feverfew, erigeron, heuchera, diascia (a little), alchemilla mollis.
Dahlias went over a few weeks ago. Bulbs are coming up all over. The Rozanne in my garden went over ages ago, but on the pavement community plot (full sun) it's in full swing, like mid summer. It's planted there in an old tree pit, mostly sand, no food, no extra water, but it's rampant - in a good way. It's bringing strong colour to the plot, which would be wintery otherwise, and offering good late nectar. I had no idea it could be in full flower into December, as it seems it will be. We've had a few mild frosts. Hopefully, by the time the Rozanne is over, the iris retic. will be starting.
I have salvias, sweet William, various fuchsias, sunflowers, geraniums of the hardy and non hardy varieties, a few flowers on the weigela and a lonely but very pretty flower spike on the wisteria. Whilst out and about in the garden tidying up today, I’ve spotted some snowdrops poking through the soil!
I noticed this morning that the dog rose and campanula have a couple of flowers as well. And the small tomato plant in the plastic greenhouse, which has been surprisingly prolific for an impulse buy from Lidl. It only has tiny tomatoes and just a few at a time but it has kept on producing.
