Β  People are very clever making these for post boxes or knitted poppies on gates etc.Β

Thank you so much Ante. I see that you have the right amount all sorted for you in a little packet I hope that you had a good walk with your dog. You will be ready for tea and a rest now.
SGL, it must have been your turn for the power cut today. At least yours was shorter than Hazel's.

  • Baking Tip. I make my own vanilla sugar by keeping a vanilla pod in a coffee jar full of caster sugar.

I had a nice surprise after lunch ... my son turned up to drive me to have my Booster Jab, so I didn't have to drive home after the jab with a potentially sore arm.Β  Of course, my arm isn't sore at all and I feel perfectly fine (so far) but it was a very kind thought and it was lovely to see him.Β

Now OH has made me a chicken salad and a buttery baked sweet potato, then we'll put our feet up and watch the tv quiz shows.Β  Definitely a good dayΒ  B)

I've done that in the past Dove but did not want to wait for the pod to infuse my sugar as I want to make these biscuits soon.

We'll be lazy pieces together Hazel! I'm willing to bet that Biglad and SGL's OH will be riveted to the TV tonight as England play Qatar in the World Cup qualifier. I am signing out for tonight too. Get my brain in gear for quiz night. See you all tomorrow people.

Not exactly thrilling viewing. It's just a matter of how many. I might well be asleep before full-time!

More tidying up this afternoon and the garden waste bin is pretty full again. Not much flowering in the garden except these:-

It's my turn to retire for tonight. Like Biglad said, England's victory in not in the question.Β
Have a nice evening and see you all tomorrow.
