Good Morning everyone, lovely bright start here today,
LB Have a lovely time with bestie today I hope all goes well with the meeting at the food bank later, hope Jack has a negative result & his daughter is improving,
Bluebells I’m pleased you had no ill effects from the jab. Nel is fine curled up on my bed for the day & mum is making good progress thank you. I have made a lasagna in my slow cooker and it is beautiful and soft.
Rubee I hope you haven’t done yourself any damage after that fall on the stairs, take care of yourself,
@Songbird-1 Hazel It sounded like an action packed day yesterday, hope all goes well with  the dismantling of the old chair next week. Pleased to hear your mum & daughter are both doing well, a relief for you to know your daughter is more settled & coping, I hope that continues,
Ante So pleased to hear your dad had his operation yesterday, all the best to him and a good recovery,
Busy Your meal out sounded wonderful some quality time together, I’m glad your result came back negative after all.
Hope @star gaze lily is ok, not seen her recently.
    Have a good day everyone.

  • Afternoon everyone 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ sorry not read back yet, but will in a mo.
@Songbird-1 Thank you, yes all ok.
Haven't been able to get on line for a few days. Our landline phone went down late Tuesday afternoon. BT arrived very early Wednesday morning......we'd only just got up!  Tested inside the house and we were told the problem must be outside but wasn't sure where. In the meantime we then lost internet etc. They tested the socket on the outside of our house, wasn't that either. They went off somewhere and then OH got call on his mobile to be told that there was now something wrong in our part of the village and would be sorted ASAP. We got a call about 30 minutes ago to be told all was now fixed. At least we had our mobiles for calls.
Will read back, but hope you're all well
  • Biglad and Hazel blustery here too.  Back from the rellies.  My floor tiles in the kitchen had lifted after using the steamer some time ago, since despatched.  I’ve collected some contact glue from dad and sprayed the visible lifted area on the tiles and weighted them down with a cast iron doorstop.  I hope it holds.  Apparently, the only steamer that doesn’t leak is a jaws.  Back to the humble soapy cleaner of fairy liquid and zoflora.  I’m just having a hot chocolate and sitting watching the trees in the breeze, very calming.  Chive good to hear that Nel is very cosy.   Alfie has forgiven me for being out and tucking into his food.  I’m reading up on some more recipes for the slow cooker.  Apparently, you can bake a cake.  Apparently, you up turn a saucer put some boiling water in up to the sealed bottom of the cake tin and cook for approx 3 hours.
  • Lily hoping you and oh are okay.  I’ve wrapped up today as quite cool.  I can’t believe it will soon be November.

Afternoon All, OH and I have been to D***elm this afternoon, I bought an apron for 50p (my bargain of the day), some sweet bumble bee coasters, a set of baubles & a wicker Chr*$m*s tree skirt which OH wore walking back to the car 🙄
@star gaze lily Oh dear you’ve had some unexpected problems, I’m pleased you are connected back up to a landline and online again. I hope you managed to get the milk and other items you needed this week,
Bluebells Nice to visit your rellies, I hope the loose floor tiles are all sorted now. I have never tried to bake a cake like that, sounds a very nice idea 😋

Hello all. I am loving all these cookery ideas for a slow cooker and it is making me look in a new light at mine. Perhaps I should get myself a slow cooker book too.
@star gaze lily, I am sorry to hear about your phone and internet problems but glad that they are all sorted out now.
@Chivetalking what a bargain apron you got for 50p! I'd have paid to see your OH walking back to the car with the wicker tree skirt on. Did he wear it as a hat I wonder?
@bluebellsinthewild I hope that the magic glue has worked on your tiles and that they are all level now.
It was very interesting at the food bank today - and very well organised. There are enough volunteers so that we will only be needed about every six weeks though we can volunteer more often. They need five people each session. Bestie and I have volunteered for 2nd and 23rd December as these dates were not too popular and it suits we two.

Glad your phone line is fixed now @star gaze lily, it's so frustrating when it doesn't work.

I went to get my eye looked at. It was just an age problem, but the optometrist said you should always get a new floater checked. Eye has been blurry all afternoon, thanks to the drops, but I was able to do some gentle weeding and edging this afternoon.

    Evening Everyone,
LB Oh no this was worn as a skirt!
Glad you had a nice day with bestie, your help in the food bank will be greatly appreciated especially at that time of year, how is her daughter?
Busy So pleased you were able to get your eye checked today, nice to have that peace of mind,
