My heart sank too @Fairygirl, @Hostafan1 and @punkdoc. But as this thread has been resurrected, I find YouTube easier to find out how to use things than trying to read all the small print on the instruction booklets. Had to use some walkie talkies for the last street market I organised which came to me without instructions but a quick YouTube tutorial gave me all the info I needed. And again for Christmas. I like to buy a new game each year to play with the family (or those of them that I and my granddaughters can persuade to play). This year it was a card game, Cards On The Table based on Agatha Christie's detectives. We played a few rounds but didn't really understand the strategy. Now I have had demos on YouTube I can't wait to play it with the granddaughters again. But you have to click around to find tutorials that get to the heart of the matter quickly.
I use it for mending or maintaining stuff or watching painting techniques. It's also great for finding clear explanations of scientific concepts and the like and seeing if you still like a piece of music and remembering the best bits of old comedies. Agreed, you do have to sift out the shite.
Anyone else upload videos of their gardens and hobbies to YouTube?
I don't but if I had the time I would probably would give it a go. I think if you look hard enough there is some good content to be found - on many topics. With regard to gardening, Charles Dowding is somebody I follow alot - he has a great channel IMO. Twitch is another platform I also use frequently - mainly live streams or niche sport or pastime channels (there is alot of gaming channels too but apart from that its quite good). Tik tok, Facebook, etc... just no.

I particularly enjoyed 'bunches of planting counsel' [WTF!] and 'when standard TV has minimal that intrigues me'
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
