@Kili, the paramedics would be your best bet if the falls are only occasional. That's what my brother has to do if his wife has a fall. He's got severe heart problems and she is a rather large lady.

    Just a change of subject.
Has anyone had trouble getting repeat prescriptions lately?
I've had lots of " temporarily out of stock " emails from Lloyds direct , and a friend has just said his local pharmacy was out of his regular meds.
A friend's daughter has lots of regular meds and they've been getting the same, though mostly things were back in by the time they needed it. It's a worry. She said if my meds were affected by the supply chain issues I'd have heard from the gp as well apparently?

I'm having Hubby's stuff bounce back and forward between me and his care home.

  • @Hostafan1 Gah. As in they're asking you to sort his meds because they can't get them? That's a bit crap.

I'm getting emails from Lloyds Direct for stuff which should be going to him in care home. I guess they're having delivery issues

  • Fingers crossed it gets sorted.

Re prescriptions, just been to Boots to collect ours. Overheard the lady at the front of the queue being told that they didn’t have the dose of the medicine she had been prescribed, and there was none at the supplier either. The GP wanted to up her dose of thyroxine from 50 to 75, but they only had 50 or 100. They advised her to ring round a few pharmacies and if no joy, go back to the GP for advice.
I felt a bit guilty as I then collected my supply of 25s, especially as this is a starter dose and I’m sure by the end of the month, when I can finally get a blood test, they’ll up my dose to at least 50. I’ll have to hand onto the 25s for when they increase it again to 75!
Sounds like problems at the suppliers as well as the pharmacy branches.

There are definitely delivery issues with medication and it will become harder over time to get specific brands because of supply issues caused by Brexit. Never mind though all the extra cash now available for the NHS will balance that out nicely.

In the past when my thyroxine dose was increasing and the right size pills weren’t available I was told to take slightly over one day and under the next (alternate days). I was told it was slow acting so it would level out. I’m on 150 per day now … have been for years.
