I’ve been doing comparisons with the EarlGrey teabags I’ve been buying. I haven’t been using the supermarket with my preferred own brand during lockdown, so have been managing with the own brand from the place I prefer to shop at. I finally got brave and bought a box of my preferred brand, and have now used the last tea bag from it. I still had a box of the non favourite ones, and have just made myself a cup, and in comparison, it’s horrid. Now I’m going to have to drink up to 50 cups of it, as I can’t bring myself to throw away the rest of them.  ( too mean / can’t bring myself to waste food ) Am I being really stupid?

You have to enjoy your tea,  one of the few pleasures in life.
Open them up,  throw away the probably plastic stripped case and sprinkle on the compost heap, that way they haven’t died in vain and you can go back to your favourite with a clear conscience.

I bought some loose tea a while ago, just to see if I could be more economical as I drink so much of it, but it was vile. It's one of life's great pleasures, as @Lyn says, so I refuse to have something I dislike.  ;)
I tipped mine out into the compost bin or round some plants.

I was in WH Smith today looking for an anniversary card.  The racks with 'Anniversary' over them are full of Christmas cards.  Asked the assistant where the anniversary cards are and told 'Probably round the corner'.  Customer service with a snarl!  They actually didn't have more than about a dozen anniversary cards so I went elsewhere.  Come to that, if they did have a decent selection I would still have gone elsewhere because of the attitude.

We have two December birthdays and an anniversary in December … long ago I got used to buying the cards months in advance.

Smith's have up years ago. Smelly, dirty carpets ; poor lighting; untidy shelves and disaffected staff. That's not just one shop but several I've been in . I don't ever go in there anymore. I think they're more interested in making money at airports.

Now I’m retired and have more time people receive small paintings rather than cards.
