The problem with Care in the Community was that the scheme was dreamt up by folk who had no real understanding of the problems facing some folk, but it sounded good.

That sounds like policies from Governments of all colours over the decades. :D
Not just government, I think every " head office " could be included in that too.

You have to laugh that CoE thinks a name change is all that's needed.
I can't name a single person under the age of 50 that I know, who isn't an atheist.

Despite having been involved with the church until I was about 40ish, I now have absolutely no religious belief at all @Hostafan1, but I do know quite a few committed Christians under  (as well as over) 50 @Hostafan1 ... my son is one ... he converted to Catholicism some 12 years ago ... he also has many friends who attend churches of many different denominations ... also close friends of his and mine were/are involved with the founding and running of the Greenbelt Festival  https://www.greenbelt.org.uk/

I hold absolutely no brief for any church or for the appalling things done by and in the name of various churches and their followers 😡  but the Christians I know are just as horrified as you and I are by those horrific acts and are resolved to make changes.

The church my stepson attends and helps out at has to have three services on a Sunday to cope with the amount of people who wish to come.

That would suggest that giving the church a new woke name isn't necessary.  Maybe vicars (or whatever other denominations call them) just need to be less remote.

'Woke'. I hate that term. Synonymous with smug.
