Washing blueberries, or any soft fruit

    The only fruit I wash is wild blackberries because everyone had a maggot in it,  don’t like the thought of that so I put them in salt water for awhile them skim the maggots off.

    I use slightly salty water too.
    There was never enough rice with the vests curries. I always had to do extra. 
    I still cook my rice like pasta. Much easier than that measuring and don't take the lid off faff
    In London. Keen but lazy.

  • You can still get tins of beans and sausages.Dont wash any fruit we grow. Hubby leaves the blackberries in a dish,any bugs march out.

    I spotted some sausage and bean tins in the SM a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't resist getting one. Just for old times sake :D

    OH loves tinned beans & sausages so we have them occasionally (but he gets most of the sausages). I remember Vesta meals being a real treat when I was a youngster :s
