Have never come across tinned Lentils ( perhaps I haven't looked hard enough ? ) but they are so easy to do, tinned doesn't seem worth it. Thought OP was just looking for meat substitutes for a slow cooker but see that meat stock cubes are acceptable. One of the best and tastiest soups for me is Pea and Ham. I generally use a Ham hock from local farm shop but I imagine Ham stock cubes could be used. Dried peas and a bit of seasoning, really tasty and freezes well too. Mushroom soup, Onion soup, Chick Pea soup or stew - the options are endless really.
I'm making my own mouth water just thinking about them
I am a Tofu convert. I think like a lot of people I had a bad experience with it where it had been used as a meat substitute, rather than treating it as something that needs a specific way of cooking. It's closer to cheese than meat. Fried so it's crispy on the outside, it's delicious.
Can't think of a substitute for mince, but in a stew or ragu type dish, I would go with lentils, beans, maybe diced carrots, and maybe roasted aubergine. Chicken or ham on the bone will add flavour while really stretching the meat out and making it go a long way.

Chicken is poultry not meat,I know some folk argue it's white meat, but it does also contain brown meat
How are we defining meat these days ? I thought it was flesh from a living ( or dead ! ) being which undoubtedly brings Poultry into the equation. Surely it's not defined by colour - if so, then a lot of pork would be considered OK too Often amused by self professed vegetarians who openly admit to consuming fish and other sea food. They surely are no more vegetarian than the person stuffing a beef burger down their gullet. Veganism is entirely different - no product from any living being or any by product either.
If you historically haven't taken to tofu, try this. I could eat this every day and never get tired. Very tasty stuff. Great to cook with or as part of a fry up or in salads.
Thanks so much for all the recipe ideas. I just want to cut down in my consumption of meat in general wish I had the willpower to go vegetarian but I don’t. My thinking is if I buy less meat I can afford to buy stuff that’s more ethically produced and slightly assuage my guilt. I tend to cook a batch in the slow cooker then eat through the week. I often don’t get in from work until 7.30 so I need something quick and easy and no bother. I will happily eat the same meal several days running if I am eating alone. Big batch of chilli or Ragu lasts me all week.
If fiancé is home I eat something different I promise.
We’ve cut right down on meat, a pack of mince is divided into 6 portions and frozen separately, I only ever buy chicken wings and we have one each in a casserole and a roast dinner, lots of sage and onion stuffing and about 4 veg. And a Yorkshire pudding. once a week a veg stir fry with lots of mushrooms to beef it out. Fish twice a week, cod and salmon. Eggs beans tomatoes and a jacket potato with cheese. my compete weekly shop, including under the sink, toiletries and pet food comes to less than £50.00p now because of reducing meat.
