Cordless Hedge Trimmer Recommendationon

It looks likely that my old corded Bosch may well be on the way out so I'm looking at replacing it  with a cordless trimmer. When I purchased it was mainly to deal with a Beech hedges, about 60ft X 7 ft. However we've moved house in the intervening period. It's main use now will be to cut low growing box hedges plus keeping some shrubs from overhanging the drive - mainly dogwood and viburnum, so I won't need anything quite so chunky. Similarly I would like a reasonable run time and decent cutting ability with blades that stay sharp
I searched the forum but couldn't find anything newer than 2019 so apologies if I've missed anything.

So any recommendations please or pointers on what I should be looking for

    I have a Ryobi cordless and I'm very happy with it.  It cut a yew hedge back with ease.  I haven't had the battery run out when I'm using it. The battery is only 2.0ah and lasts around 1/2 hour.  I have 2 batteries anyway so I always put the spare on charge before starting work.

    I have a Bosch battery one good run time and no issues yet…been a couple of years.

    One of the main costs of cordless tools is the batteries so I would consider what other cordless tools you might want to buy. It pays to stick to one brand with interchangeable batteries

    The Which review of cordless hedge trimmers gives joint top place to Stihl HSA56 and HLA 56. They scored 84%.

    i just checked Amazon.. it was this one, I only paid 90 for it…assume there is maybe a newer model now?

    I got a second hand cordless Qualcast hedge cutter years ago for a tenner and I love it. It's light, the charge lasts ages and holds well in the battery when not being used.  For this model you have to use both hands to operate it, so it feels very safe with zero chance of cutting your hands. I guess you could do your feet some damage if you wanted to.

    The battery went after about five years (having been used by others before). I bought another Qualcast battery on Ebay very easily. I would always recommend buying batteries on Ebay, new or used (for the exact brand you are looking for). You can often get a bargain, esp if you are patient and save a search, so they let you know when a specific thing comes for sale.

    I have a pigback question about sharpening. I see garden vids that suggest getting these cutters sharpened every year (!). I have had mine for years and lend it out a lot to neighbours and I have never sharpened it. It seems that it would cheaper to get a new one (not my bag). Any ideas?

    Ebay is a notorious source of fakes branded as the real thing so be careful who you buy from - check their satisfaction ratings.
