E10 will be OK in vehicles made after 2011 mine is 2006,but thankfully diesel anyway. My grump!!! You know the long saga, neighbours fence etc. Hubby removing the flaming blackberries coming over from there,is absolutely fuming. He's just a couple of weeks back made a raised bed, which is going to be prairie plants, said neighbours have exactly the same plants in exactly the same colour waiting to be planted. You can't see into our garden without, deliberately getting near the fence, and peering over. We had 2 arches, hubby made obelisks, ditto!!!
The fox feeders next door are away. A hungry looking young fox looked me straight in the eye. They can put the guilts on you just just like our domesticated friends 😕
Dug a very deep hole to plant out a rose and I bet you can guess what I found at the bottom. Bluebells of course!
Wood Green, are you calling the E5 the better grade? Will that eventually be phased out and only the E10 available.Â
Yes @Lyn. I hope I've got this right! I must admit when I got fuel for the machinery on Sunday ( no queues, no closed garages) I just did my usual looking at the grade and price! I was less than a quarter full in the car (E10) so I did put a bit in there but not a lot as I'm not going far and if problems do arise here I wouldn't want to deprive others. My shredder runs through winter usually and even the mowers can run well into November or early December weather permitting, mainly mowing up leaves by then, and mowing often starts late Feb or early March so overwintering them hasn't been a problem so far. I might do as @KT53 says though, try the Aspen, unless I have them serviced in the quiet time. I don't know if E5 will be phased out? Vintage vehicles will need it and petrol- driven machinery?
Good point @AllotmentBoy. No point having the weight of fuel we don't need, I hadn't thought of that before.

The age of vehicles 'happy' with E10 varies between manufacturers. Nissan are OK from about 2000 and Audi only from about 2010.
I've just heard that yesterday members of staff in our local superstore were asked to go urgently to the petrol station to protect the staff working there. What has happened to this country? Wasn't there a time when you could call the police? Does anyone bother to call them anymore unless they need an insurance number?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, apparently! It just shows that whatever they might say, the neighbours admire your garden and your plant choices.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Have the police got enough petrol to get there?  In Suffolk there seem to be only about three police stations to cover the whole of the east of the county …

The current E5 fuel is so call super unleaded, higher octane than standard. Standard is 95-97, super is 99-100 equivalent to the old 4 -5 star. Round here super unleaded is around 15 p a litre more than standard.  Before the addition of more Ethanol super unleaded was really only of benefit in high performance engines. Some racing engines use pure Methanol (Ethanol with a bit of meth to stop people drinking it, speedway bikes being one example). It is high performance as it carries some oxygen in it, but the mpg is terrible.😆
