I never fertilise (I grow in the ground) personally I find that fertilising makes the tomatoes taste WORSE the same for all fruit, they get bigger and less tasty.
I turn ours into tinned tomatoes luckily I have some jars left since this year I only grew one pollytunnel full and they are running late.

I agree. I water often in pots but don't over feed. I remember Bob Flowerdew once saying - "grow tomatoes not tomato plants"
Abandoned loads last year. Passers by benefited. I even added a garnish of Greek basil, TBH. They weren't that good. Sauces etc were ok but then tinned tomatoes can b be made into decent sauces. I wanted to be able to eat them straight off the plant. I might try the treat them mean thing. Anyway, I'm not going through the aggravation next year. Also. The best ones last year were self seeded., they were plumoid. Probably from supermarket tomatoes. I have unreasonably high hopes for this year's batch of self seeders
I grew the Gardeners World toms from the free seeds, All doing well, lots of plants, all limited to three or four trusses, with weekly feeds now they have set. When do I start worrying if they will ripen?! (Clue: after the mini heat wave it's been damp and dull endlessly!)
As long as they start changing colour, they've started the ripening process @matthewcaminer You can bring the toms indoors to finish off, as temps lower. That will depend on where you are. Once night time temps are single figure, that can make a big difference [as well as lower daytime ones] We've had several of those already, which is why, along with normally poor weather through July, we need to grow undercover.
Re feeding -I don't feed mine much, as per @Italophile's expert advice.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A neighbour in the garden group tried various methods this year, including cutting a SM cherry tom in half and burying it. It was very successful. So it seems there's no need (sometimes) to do the drying, soaking and scraping business when using fresh toms.
