We always holiday in the UK nowadays @SilviSherr ... can't be doing with airport crowds and that sort of hassle any more ... we get ourselves down to a luxury cottage in Cornwall and enjoy great weather, (not been disappointed yet), fabulous food and scenery, a laid back lifestyle and lots of art and music ... what's not to love ... and stopping off to visit dear @Hostafan1 on the way is a real bonus
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
A big shout out to all the Forker youngsters who did so well yesterday……hope they have a great time pursuing their dreams 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Nothing wrong with a staycation, but also can’t wait til we can travel again. Seeing different places and experiencing different ways of life are a joy. And there are sooooo many places I would like to visit.
Its our first Garden club lecture back in the Village Hall tonight. We’ve been zooming since last October, so all feels a bit nerve wracking to be back. Hope it goes well and we have a reasonable turn out.
We had a great “Christmas” thanks @WonkyWomble. Slightly spoiled by the fact that Chicklet was pinged last Thursday evening so had to stay in her flat in Bournemouth. We zoomed her in, but not the same. Glad your back has improved enough for you to be back at work ….take it easy.
Lovely fresh feeling morning so far and loads of dew so all sparkly. The chooks are all on form when I went down to let them out tho Bess was on their preferred egg laying box and making a lot of noise. Bess is the only one who sleeps up on the perch. We get one or two on the poo shelf below the perch and always at least 2 in the boxes below that. Still only 2 eggs a day at the mo.
I hope the Norfolk meet-up goes well. It is lovely to be able to socialise again. The ladies at patch on Monday were asking if we were going to insist on the Covid Pass for the new season. They think it's a good thing.
Congratulations to all who've done well in their exams at whatever level. Your twins sound amazing @Allotment Boy
Can't be doing with airports either @Dovefromabove but don't need them here as we can drive or train altho OH and I haven't been on holiday since 2016. Too busy moving house and country that year and haven't felt the need yet as we have so much to do here in house and garden and regular activities plus exploring places round here when we take a day off.

I agree @Dovefromabove there is so so many places in the whole of the UK. We normally go abroad to visit my family once a year around Christmas. The last time I saw them was 3 years ago!
We do occasionally travel to some Greek island but we find we don’t ‘need’ to go on foreign travels all the time. We like to take the camper van and head out, find a nice camping site and do a bit of hiking.
This time we have hired a cottage, going to be hiking some bits of Hadrian’s Wall
@Allotment Boy. Well done to your twins, wonderful story. My grandson had to go into his school and take the exams, on paper, seems a lot of young people got teacher assessment. congratulations to all who achieved their goals.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Congratulations to all those with their well earned exam results. We woke to thick fog this morning but this has now burnt off and another hot day in store. I have a hospital appointment this afternoon, I wonder if they will want to see my Covid Pass, nothing was said when I had to ring to confirm the RDV!
A late in the afternoon "hello" to all and asunder. Finally some decent weather - it is hot - but then it is summer. Well, this week anyway. Tourists abound - last bun fight before all is quiet. Some cafés here aren't bothering with the Covid Health pass - I won't be going there for a coffee - producers markets still on, but closed off to allow checks for Health Pass. Sowed the last lot of carrots, turnips, beetroot/chioggia and Chinese Watermelon Radish, white and black radish, spinach and fennel for winter consumption. Should be good for December/January/February and as usual by March, nothing much to eat. Shame I can't grow pasta!! Have a pleasant evening everyone and watch the rosé!! Tui

today's dilemma. Given it takes at least 10 working days to get a Blue Badge, is it worth the agro and £10 to apply?
