It feels chilly and we are down towards 12oC overnight,  having been about 23oC overnight recently.

Changes in our climate here without doubt. Going 3 or 4 days without rain would be odd - in any season. July is often a cool, wet month, with daytime temps often no higher than mid teens at best, so we always look forward to the schools going back in mid August, because it's autumnal by then and we often get some lovely sharp, sunny weather. Much healthier for me  :)

Are you growing them from seed @*Astrantia* ? If so, they won't flower until next year.

Ahh yes I did grow from seed I just assumed they’d flower this year🙄 thank you ! There were some in the border already but they didn’t seem to survive last winter so I’ve grown more it’s a new garden For me as I’ve moved so I’m finding out what’s there what’ll grow and what the huge slugs won’t eat !!

They don't do well in the shade. Put them somewhere sunny

Slugs don't really bother them, so that's a bonus at least!
If you take cuttings from the ones you have, that will give you more plants. It won't affect the plants you've grown, but even doing cuttings from a couple of the plants will be helpful in case you lose any this winter.
You can overwinter the cuttings in the house, if you don't have a greenhouse or cold frame. They don't need much attention, just enough warmth to keep them ticking over  :)

Well, I think it was a success. Torrential sedum flattening, knock a rose flower onto the ground  rain and they're still upright.
Now I've got to see what I can do to get my Chelsea chopped sedum off the horizontal.😒
