A floppy verbena bonarensis solution?

I've plaited and twisted the wayward ones together. Sometimes just winding  the flower heads is enough.Hopefully, they won't escape.  We'll see.

    I might give that a try. Mine have been really disappointing this year. But I suppose its not surprising with late frosts, torrential rain, near hurricane strength winds and 35c heat to contend with.

    Quite a few of mine are at 45 degrees angles - many are flat to the ground. Ones that are threaded through other plants for support are regularly snipped off when I'm cutting back / pruning / dead heading🤬

    At the risk of sounding like Ronnie Corbett is those sketches with Ronnie B and John Cleese, I don't even have any - didn't make it through winter, and I didn't take cuttings.
    I know my place...

    I did find three tiny seedlings which were under an 'open' doormat I have in the gravel by the side gate.  Maybe next year..... ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    They grow like/ are weeds on the sunny side. Rare on the shady side. They prefer the cracks between the paving slabs on the sunny side. PITA to be honest.

    given the forecast here for tonight, I doubt plaiting would answer for mine. Luckily (?) it's been so cold they are actually only about a foot tall at the moment so will probably be fine

    My top growth was going over anyway and they make quite good cut flowers. In the pavement plot I have gone for Lollipops instead so they don't flop as much.

    I think London has to be heading for one of the wettest Julys for a long while. Rainfall records are released on the 13th of Aug or so.

    Whereas we've had one of the driest Julys here @Fire. Very unusual for it to be so dry, especially as we just had two weeks with no rain [apart from a tiny bit of smirr on a couple of occasions]  That's never happened in my lifetime. 
    I don't expect you have single figure temps overnight  though.   ;)
