I dropped a pair pointy end down on my foot. Blood fountain 6 " in the air. Very frightening, but at least I knew the cut would be clean.😕 My instinctive reaction now when anything heavy or sharp falls is to jump back rather than try to catch it.
Like @Topbird, I've been gardening a long time and can still injure myself quite easily. The solution is to do a shed load of swearing as loudly as possible while holding the injury closed and finding a plaster
My best injury was the spade somersaulting through the air and slicing my cheek. That was a fun trip to A&E with young children, while trying not to panic - or faint.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
